H&M Philippines Opens This October 17!

Äntligen! The long wait is over as Swedish retail giant H&M—Hennes & Mauritz AB opens its doors to the public on its first Philippine store located at SM Megamall Fashion Hall on Friday, October 17 at exactly 9AM until midnight.

As a special treat, the first 200 customers in line will receive gift cards: the first in line will get P6,000 worth, while the next 200 will get P200-P5,000, among other giveaways and opening offers of up to 50% off. Regular store hours of 10 AM to 10 PM will be resumed on October 20 onwards.

Last Wednesday, the red carpet was rolled out for celebrities, models, select group of VIPs and the members of media for an exclusive opening event of H&M's first ever store in the Philippines.

The retail space, spanning three floors and approximately 3,000 square meters, has been filled with more than 1,000 guests and get to shop first with 20% discount as a treat for the night over champagne and cocktails.

I know you'll be one of those hundreds to thousands of people to storm the store in the next couple days to take advantage of the fab finds at a discounted price, now here's what you need to know:

The first floor has all the basics and accessories, shoes, women's wear and lingerie.

Denim racks, women's casual wear, a few more accessories, and active/sporty wear can be found at the second floor.

And finally at the third floor, children's wear and menswear can be spotted.

Truth be told, I may not be as organize as I want myself to be on store openings like this but if there's one thing I learned, it's always KNOW what you're looking for and that you may want to set a budget limit on top of that budget limit you've decided before going (if you know what I mean, LOL).

Now, who's excited for H&M x Alexander Wang collection?
It's coming up next, real soon!

H&M x Maison Martin Margiela Launches in 230+ stores worldwide on November 15

I have been drowning myself in sorrow knowing I won't be in any of the H&M stores elbowing and fighting for the best finds as H&M launches it's much-hyped collaboration with avant-garde Belgian fashion Maison Martin Margiela on 230+ H&M stores worldwide today, November 15

Not only that you'll get to be one of the lucky mortals to own an H&M x MMM collection but some items are on it's discounted price as stores open on this collection. As I researched, a representative for the house said that the clothing would mostly be reissued pieces from the Margiela archives, and these garments definitely embody the classic oversize silhouettes, deconstructed styling, and incorporation of found objects the house became famous for. But while prices for original Margiela pieces can reach thousands of dollars, prices for this collaboration run from $13 to $399.

Released since August, photographs of the collection has been all over the Lookbook with it's ad campaign building up to it's release date. Here are some of the collections - (prices may vary) photo courtesy of H&M:

Several pieces are fusions of more than one type of garment. One of the women's bottoms melds a skirt with trousers; elsewhere, halves of two different dresses are combined. The house also turned everything from key rings, locks of hair, and faceless watches into inventive accessories.

H&M Fall Winter 2012 Menswear

It's amazing how Asian fashion market is rising especially when Europe's financial turmoil still not showing signs of ease, as it is no longer a surpise to see Asian on lookbook faces of designer brands. Just like on H&M's Fall Winter 2012

H&M continues a strong colour theme as if to reinforce an optimistic attitude amongst uncertain financial times. Green, orange and burgundy are key colours creating an exciting visual appeal for the collection. I love the combination, deeper in tone and yet fresh and bright when put together. Classic menswear style that are timeless forms the staple of the many offerings for Fall Winter 2012. Tweed coats, blazers, smart trousers, bomber jackets and colourblock sweaters are highlights not to be missed.

This green blazer looks really appealing!
Watch out style spotters for this may be the colour for the new season. :)

2012 Marni for H&M Collection for Men

Get ready for H&M’s big designer collaboration collection with Marni.

Marni will follow Versace as the next label to create a collection for H&M. The Italian label’s founder Consuelo Castiglioni has designed a spring collection for the high street brand which will land in 260 stores worldwide – as well as online – on March 8.

Too bad there are no H&M stores in the Philippines (insert sad face here)
but aren't we all thrilled? :)
