The Power of Form at MET Manila

It's no secret from my previous posts that I have this fascination for art. One of my fantasies is to visit some, if not all, museums in Paris or New York for a whole day. Unfortunately, it wouldn't be sooner than I wish it would be.

But for now, there is always the Metropolitan Museum of Manila and is currently exhibiting the works of National Artist for sculpture, Napoleon Abueva.

To cater to the Filipino’s responsiveness towards tangible art, the Metropolitan Museum of Manila brings you an exhibition by the country’s national artist for sculpture, Napoleon Abueva entiled “Abueva: The Power of Form.”

This exhibit features a range of sculptures with diverse concepts, forms and techniques representing significant stages of the artist’s life. The MET showcases over 100 sculptures from various collections, the 1950s up to 2009. It is primarily a tactile exhibit, where visitors are allowed to touch the artworks to fully experience the artistry and dynamism in each sculpture.

Experience these momentous sculptures through your own hands on January 30 at the Tall Galleries and will be displayed at the MET Manila's BSP galleries until February 28, 2014.

Metropolitan Museum of Manila is located at the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Complex, Roxas Blvd., Metro Manila.
Doors are open from 10 AM to 5:30 PM, Mondays through Saturdays.
