This Year's Bags of Desire

First, the Hula Hoop bag. Then, sneakers in a Haute Couture collection. And now, Chanel has officially joined the street style fashion with watercolor backpacks, tote and flap bags.

 

Chanel's head designer and creative director Karl Lagerfeld is always able to create something amazing, creative and unique. Amongst the many stylish pieces that provided a visual feast, what made it stood out were the modern and vivid interpretations as Chanel’s take on the art portfolio and a backpack laden with graffiti motifs—covered with strokes from a paintbrush continuing the running Art theme of the collection.

The iconic Chanel backpacks were worn during the Spring/Summer RTW 2014 runway show.

Boy Flap bags to covet including leather that is braided, crystallized and faded, and are updated with a new denim exterior as well as the warm two-tone bags in dusty pink and beige.

Tote bags gets an upgrade with this beautiful quited design, perfect for casual Fridays, also available in smaller sizes.

This Chanel hula hoop bag was first seen in Chanel Spring/Summer 2013 show at Paris Fashion Week and was the talk of the show's collection for the French fashion house. Sure Chanel's head designer and creative director Karl Lagerfeld is one of the best minds in the fashion industry, but has the weirdest and bizarre ideas too. And you might be surprised to what it's intended purpose.

"It's for the beach. You need space for the beach towel. 

And then you can put it into the sand and hang things on it." 

Lagerfeld told the Daily Telegraph post-show about the circular design. 

So, let's try to imagine one of the 10 most valuable luxury brand valued at $6.7 billion on the beach in the sand??? But really, who would want that? Lady Gaga, perhaps? :)  

But one thing is for sure, we'll be on the look for celebrities and socialites strutting this Chanel bag in The Hamptons, Anse Source d’Argent and St. Barts to the beach.
