I can still remember how people in my circle were so damn excited when The Twilight was released in movie theaters last year. And now after knowing that the sequel will soon be in theaters, they'll be ecstatic and delighted to stay tuned for any updates, not to mention from changing there phone's to their laptop's wallpapers.

The film's director is Chris Weitz who has replaced the director of the previous installment of the Twilight series, Catherine Hardwicke.

According to author Stephenie Meyer,

“The term new moon refers to the phase of the moon opposite a full moon. It is when the sun is on the opposite side of the moon from us and thus the bright side of the moon is not visible from earth. This is the darkest kind of night. New Moon is the darkest period of Bella’s life.”

As what Meyer indicated, it is about losing true love and sacrifices.

To give you a brief idea about the movie, it all started when Bella is thrown an eighteenth birthday party by Alice and Edward Cullen, the vampire she loves, and his family. While unwrapping a gift, she gets a small paper cut. Edward's brother, Jasper, is overwhelmed by her blood's scent and tries to attack Bella. To protect her from vampires, Edward ends his relationship with Bella, and he and his family leave Forks, Washington. Bella becomes severely despondent and seeks comfort with Jacob Black, a cheerful friend who eases her pain over losing Edward.

"I felt like I was trapped in one of those terrifying nightmares, the one where you have to run, run till your lungs burst, but you can't make your body move fast enough..." ~ Bella Swan

Bella and Jacob develop a close friendship, and she soon realizes that thrill-seeking activities, such as motorcycle riding, help her to remember Edward more clearly. Meanwhile, Bella learns that Jacob is a werewolf. He and his fellow werewolves protect Bella from the vampire Victoria, who seeks revenge for her dead mate, James, whom the Cullens killed in Twilight.

Meanwhile, a series of miscommunications leads Edward to believe that Bella killed herself. Distraught over her supposed suicide, Edward flees to Italy to provoke the Volturi, peace-keeping vampires who would be able to kill him. Bella and Edward's sister, Alice, rush to Italy to save Edward, arriving just in time to stop him. Before leaving Italy, the Volturi tell them that Bella, a human who knows that vampires exist, must either be killed or transformed into a vampire. When they return to Forks, Edward tells Bella that he has always loved her and only left to protect her. She forgives him, and the book ends with the Cullens voting in favor of Bella being transformed into a vampire after her graduation, much to Edward's dismay.

For Bella Swan, there is one thing more important than life itself: Edward Cullen. But being in love with a vampire is even more dangerous than Bella could ever have imagined. Edward has already rescued Bella from the clutches of one evil vampire, but now, as their daring relationship threatens all that is near and dear to them, they realize their troubles may be just beginning.

Yup, you've read it right! Dakota Fanning will be part of the cast playing as Jane - a Volturi vampire. Oh well, with her in the movie gets almost everyone excited. I can totally imagine her in the role. Coolness!
