Steven Meisel on Jimmy Choo’s latest ad campaign

Conceived by Jimmy Choo Founder and Chief Creative Officer, Tamara Mellon, the campaign is inspired by cinematic 1970s Parisian glamour and conveys the darker, subversive side of femininity.
“This season I looked to the women who have always inspired me for their chic, empowered sense of dress. The creative talent of Meisel transports us to a moment of stolen romance, perfectly capturing my vision for the season and the energy and spirit of the Jimmy Choo woman,” Tamara said.
Meisel photographed models Raquel Zimmermann and Ben Hill in New York City’s Waldorf Astoria.

Perched broodingly on a satin strewn bed, clutching the new CATHERINE bag in luxurious black softbox leather and leopard print pony, Zimmerman channels French film noir heroines, wearing vixen-like FLORA, a buttery soft suede, black open-toe lattice-style boot.

Tea is served, as poised in her hotel suite with ladylike classicism, she wears FLAXELY, a bootie in black suede which criss-crosses its way over the foot and up to the ankle in a perfect slim fit.

Jimmy Choo unveils its Autumn Winter 2011 advertising campaign to launch in August and September books globally, shot for the first time by fashion photographer Steven Meisel.
