Like everyone else, ice cream is closest to the most happy and sad hearts of the world. And although everyone finds Häagen-Dazs severely overpriced, it is the first thing that comes in my mind whenever I feel really sad. I'd go down to 711 in Petron Gas station along Buendia-Pasong Tamo or in Häagen-Dazs store in Greenbelt and get one.
I've read from Franz Jonathan de la Fuente's article that Häagen-Dazs is going to leave Philippines in September, as it's local distributor General Mills, Inc. decided to leave the country bringing its brands Häagen-Dazs, Pillsbury and Betty Crocker with it due to the “challenging” business environment here.
By the end of September, General Mills will no longer be taking sales orders for its premium ice cream brand Häagen-Dazs. Häagen-Dazs cafes in Robinsons Place Manila and SM Mall of Asia already closed their doors last June 30; branches in Shangri-La Plaza and Eastwood City are expected to close by the end of August. After those dates, Häagen-Dazs products will merely be sold in retail stores until supplies last, General Mills said.
Like all good things come to an end,
Häagen-Dazs has an on going exit sale
where you can buy Häagen-Dazs ice cream at 50% off till supplies last.
Never tried it at all all these years. But now that it is leaving, we better try it. The 50% off surely helps too. Which is your favorite flavor that you would recommend as the representative flavor I should try?
ReplyDeleteSeriously? :( @ Fred
ReplyDeleteYou now definitely should. My faves are coffee especially if I need to stay up for work loads... Strawberry, Chocolate and Vanilla when I'm feeling low... and of course, dulce de leche for special occasions! :)
yeah, this is sad... but at least it gave us reason to stock for some. were you able to hoard some? 50% off was the bomb!
ReplyDeleteTrue enough. But another reason to be sad for those currently "on diet" physically... and financially.
